Faxing with the Slider?

Has anyone been able to fax from their laptop using the Kyo data cable and the SE47 Slider?

If you were able to do it with Mac OS X, even better, but I'd be happy to hear it is possible at all.

Is there a particular modem init string, or dialing prefix that I am overlooking?

I can get on the internet and use BitPIM with no problems, but haven't cracked the fax problem.

Thanks!

Using Mac OS X 10.3.5, and Page Sender Pro, I have gotten both to work (after alot of grief).

No success with Panther Fax, though....Apple won't help me either. Buggers.

THis sounds interesting. Can you post instructions as to how you did this? And where does the paper come from when someone faxes you. Faxing leaves me totally baffaled but it sounds like a neat trick

lajaro, thanks for the reply.

I talked to Kyo CS, and they recommended dropping the connection speed to 19.2 on the phone (duh!). That opened the door for Page Sender to talk to the phone, at least.

After playing with the flow control and init strings, oh and removing T^ prefix from the dial string, I was able to send a sloppy looking clover page, but it timed out before it could send page 2.

In the log, there were quite a few terminal mode errors, and a couple instances of pages full of <XOFF>. Don't know what those mean, but hope to get rid of them.

I still haven't found the perfect flow control setting. So far, I guess Multitech has worked the best, but isn't ideal. No modem init string works the best, apparently, but I am open to suggestions.
