I just got the call on my house phone.

What sites and how?

Posted by: YouGotOwn3d

the call saying you can get real songs onto your phone? haha prob get it off get it now probably. but i dunno about full mp3 songs bc thats umm a lil too big and u could prob just fit one or 2 or somethin

full songs will not be available due to the storage capacity on this phone

You can put a whole song in there, you just have to down sample it a lot. I down sample a 3min 40sec song to 898kb and it can fit into the phone.

I put 2 whole songs and 1 clip in there and it's fine. I tried to put 1.83mb of song into the phone and it doesn't work. I don't know what's the limit though.

why would u put a whole song on the phone???

Just for fun, i like to have a couple of my favorite songs in the phone

Yeah, I've done this too, With both Stargate themes, and the Speedracer theme (original), I've got about 4 minutes of MP3's crammed into a shade over a meg, and it actually doesn't sound bad.

That 1.8 meg thing that was mentioned isn't true. I have a tad over 3 megs of mp3's on my 6000 and it's working fine. I have even more on my 7000.

I tried to put a whole song on my 7000 without changing anything but taking out the dead space at the front and end of the song. It worked fine.

I then converted it to mono with the dead spaces gone, and it cut the song down almost to half the original size.

Just for sh*t's and grins, I will try and cram as many full songs on the 7000 one of these days.

I can put more than 3mb of songs in there, but I can't put 1 song of 1.83mb in there, it gave me an error and I have no idea why.

Posted by: bossdragon

Ahhhh....I see.

Yeah, that is weird, because I have put upwards of double that in there in one whole song, and it has taken it and played it.

Hmmm....might have to look into that. Maybe there's a glitch I know nothing of.

Get back to you on this one if I find something out....(or f*ck up my phone, which ever comes first....:laughs: )

Now I learn to downsample a song to about 900kb instead of 1.8 mb, so this problem doesn't occur anymore.

Just for everyone's reference this is what I have come up with with MY experiments.

You can put up to 21 ringtones on your phone.
Each song can be up to/around 1.4 to 1.5 somewhere around there (anything higher, and it will not work).
You can have at least 6 Megs. I think I've almost got it up to 7 megs before.

Restarting the phone will take longer with the more stuff you have uploaded.
If your playing the song, and it is choppy, restart your phone, and it should be okay playing.

Thats nice to know on the 6000, now I need someone to try and max out their 7000 before me and tell us what it's limit is.
