Would these settings work for KIC prepaid???

Posted by: shatter

Just wanted to say thank you to the fthread starter Tommy...worked perfectly..

Posted by: njw_66

So I followed all the setting with exception to the hide fields part because I could not find that in my phone. Internet now is working and I can send photo messages to other people but when they try to send me photos I never received them. What other settings do I need to change to make them come through? Thanks so much!

I've been trying to get my MMS to work. I've been searching and I found these settings:
Name: Cingular
Homepage: Http://device.home
Gateway IP1 66.209.11.61
Port 1 9201
Domain 1 (blank)
Service type 1: WAP
Gateway Type 2 (leave alone)
Port 2 3201
Domain 2: (blank)
Service type 2: WAP
DNS 1: (Leave alone)
DNS 2: (Leave Alone)

Password 2: (blank)
Speed(bps) 2 9600
Line Type 2: ISDN
GPRS APN: wap.cingular
User Name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

Now to set up MMS
Name: MMS
Homepage: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Gateway IP 1: 66.209.11.61
Port 1: 9201
Domain 1: (blank)
Service type 1: WAP
Gateway IP 2: (leave alone)

Password 2: (blank)
Speed(bps)2: 9600
Line type 2: ISDN
GPRS APN: wap@cingular
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

I put those in and I can now receive pictures but when I try to send an MMS it tries to send but then it comes back saying unable to send. It's driving me crazzy. I don't know what I'm doing wrong

Any lucky stories with the above setups, guys?

Thx

I was also having trouble sending, I could receive.

I discovered that the "homepage" field from the Web Session page also needs to be entered in the Server Name Field of the Current Server information for MMS.

I got there by selecting Messages->Menu->Message Setup->MMS Message Setup

Scroll down to Server Info

Press Select

Menu->Edit

Scroll down to server name and edit it to be:
http://mmsc.cingular.com

Hit Back enough time to get to the Done selection.

After doing that I could now send MMS messages.

Ack, and to top it off I just flexed to one that's supposed to be the cingular flex, so everything has changed.

Okay,

I have set up my e-mail using the settings provided by my ISP (Surewest). I can recieve e-mails now just fine. However, when I try to send an e-mail it says that the connection has failed. So, I call SureWest tech support who tells me that on his AT&T phone he had to set the SMTP server to the AT&T server to be able to send e-mails. Anybody know what (if anything) I can change the SMTP server to with my V3 that will allow me to send e-mails?

Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Posted by: Kurisuchi

Maybe since At&T Merged with cingular and I use photo@mycingular.com to send, maybe if you put photo@mycingular.com it might work or photo@myat&t.com. Keep calling At&T though I had to call four times to get my settings and finally I got someone that knew what they were doing, but then i had a defected phone and had to switch phones which had no settings, fortunately i still had email of person from cingular from when we were testing my settings and he helped me again. Big Up to Patrick! SO maybe you just need to find your "Patrick" from At&t....

EDIT: Hah! Never mind, I'm a *******.

EDIT 2: Wait, maybe I didn't fix it... how long does it usually take between the time that you send a message and receive it?

EDIT 3: OK, just got it, I think I'm all set. Thanks!

I am trying to upload images from my Sony Ericsson camera phone to the web using MMS. I noticed that some images make it through and some don't. Typically the larger pictures do not make it through. Does Cingular place a file size restricition on images sent through the MMSC gateway?

Is there a way to get more information on this issue?

Thanks...Andy

Depends on your phone. My w810i didn't do this... buy my k790a did.

Anybody deal with this for the Krazr? The settings menu on the krazr is different from the ones described above, for example, while most of it is similar....I can't find where to enter the Gateway IP...I can send and receive text but not mms and the browser won't connect...

I used the following settings on a cingular branded v3:

Email Settings (email message setup menu):

ISP setting: GPRS
Email provier: Custom

User ID: Yahoo ID
Password: Yahoo Password
Sending host: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Sending port: 25
Receiving host: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Receiving port: 110
Return address: yourusername@yahoo.com
Name: Blank
Cleanup: None
Save on server: Yes
Notification: On
Chaeck new msgs: No
Hide fields:

Size restriction: 64000 (this size to receive pictures)

IPS settings (sub-menu in email message setup):

Connection type: GPRS
APN address: wap.cingular
User name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
DNS IP: 0.0.0.0

and no matter what, it always says invalid: user id / password

where the user id / password is not invalid.
