i saw this 8250 case being sold for a 8290. i read somewhere that the only difference in the 8260 and the 8290 is that the 8290 is slimmer down the sides. then when i look at this case, the sides look about to be the same size as the 8260. you can see for yourself. i just wanted to kno if this case could POSSIABLE fit my 8260

i wish it could, that wont, and i know that because that has the clip to remove the faceplate, which the 8260 doesnt, also that has the gsm slot

I have never seen 8250 conversions for 8260...
I never understood why though?
But trust me, I had that phone for over a year and I never saw it...

The reason u dont see 8250 to 8260 conversion is because someone has not invest in making one available. The 8250 conversion faceplate u see for the 8290, is actually just an 8250 faceplate to begin with, nothing special about them, except that they usually have a modified keypad to make them work on the 8290. I assume that for this kind of conversion for the 8260, it will be a lot more complicated, the faceplates have to be totally re-designed, because the 8210/50/90 use Xpress on faceplates which are removable, and the 8260 faceplates are screw-on type.
If you compare an 8260 and 8290 faceplate, you will notice they are very different, even though they look simmilar.

well the problem is no one makes good 8260 faceplates. all of them are genric. now for thr 8290, they have many faceplates to choice from. most faceplates are for the 8290 and not the 8260. and ive been looking for a good sturdy case for my phone. havent found any -_-

i have an 8290 with the nokia oem 8250 faceplate i brought in the uk. To make it fit on the 8290 all you have to do is cut the edges on the keypad ( the extra inside rubber) also the 8250 keypad area is a bit inner than the 8290 so you have to cut the tip of the up arrow contact on the keypad to make it work. After 2 min of that it's and excellent keypad. That whole faceplate set you saw there is excellent I have that too. The keypad is like an oem style and the keys don't rub off. If ur planning to get the black one don't buy the whole thing just the face plate and keypad, they match with the original.

The 8250 faceplate will not work with the 8260 at all. My GF in the Philippines sent some faceplates over to me and I couldn't get the 8250 faceplate to fit my sister's 8260 but it fit perfectly on my 8290. Sorry for the bad news...
