Confusing title...I know.

I have a VM slider that I activated on my exsiting VZ account.
Went through the online ESN assignment, 111111 programming, MIN, SID *22801, etc.
I did not flash the firmware.

Now - I want to give the phone to pal of mine with an existing VZ account.
Does he simply assign the ESN to his account online, and do a *22801?
Or does he also need to through the whole 111111 programming step as well?
He is in a different SID and obviously his phone # is different.
