Sharp gx20 Transfer via comcable

Hi everybody, I have gx20 and a serial (COM) cable that I use to flash the phone.

Can I use this cable to transfer pictures/sounds/videos to/from phone?

Which program should I use?

I tried Handset manager 7, for com cables, but it doesn't work.
(I have windows xp service pack2)

Is this a FLASHER CABLE bought from a mobile unlocking company or is it the Serial cable released by Sharp, model number XN-1DC10 for RS232C (COM) connection?

I'm guessing that if it is the flasher cable, it wouldn't work, but if it is the XN-1DC10 Sharp Serial Cable, then it should be working. If this is the case, check your COM port settings - and check that Handset Manager is configured to use the correct COM port. Also make sure that you press Centre button >> Organiser (or Applications) >> PC Link >> Data Cable to enable the connection, obviously.

This cable seems not to be the one on the Sharp website, as the one on the website has a box thingy in between the two connectors, as seen here.

What software came with the cable? Are you trying to use the GX20 COM handset mangager CD that came with the phone?

The cd that came with it was a collection of unlockers and flashers I already had... No communication program.

The comhandset manager is from the cd that came with the irda adaptor I bought separetly (MA-620, FORSALE) but while installing the program, there is an option, saying IRDA or Comcable?

Hmmm... I don't know if the IrDA one will work...

I think your best bet is to use the CD that came with the phone, in the box, titled "GX20 CD-ROM" or to go to www.mobileaction.com and try the USB Handset manager, it may work.

I installed the handsetman from gx20 cdrom, but it is the same prog, and it doesn't work.

I don't thing usb manager will work.

Never mind, I ll use the irda... Anyway thanks for the help
