Phantom KX414 Banner not displaying?

My wife has the Phantom KX414.
After changing the Banner settings, the banner does not display.
Does anyone know about an additional setting to force the personal banner to display?

Also, what's the deal with the screen saver... is this always supposed to display or what? Even from the main screen, it will go into the screen saver... the documenation suggests otherwise...

My husband just got this phone and we have the same problem. I am wondering if Verizon has somehow locked in its name so you can't change the banner?

I just called Verizon, and they said they are receiving a lot of calls on this... and they said they are blocking the Banner because they need the space to display "Verizon", "Extended", or "Roaming"... guess there's nothing else we can do about it at this point.

Intresting I have the kX414 got in April. I actually have the banner working. It switches between 'VERIZON WIRELESS' and your banner. Try switching it and leaving it on. If that doesn't work you could always buy a data cable and hack it so Verizon Wireless doesn't show up.

At what point is the banner "switching" as you said? Periodically, or after some event that occurs on the phone ? For mine (in the midwest area) it's constantly on "Verizon Wireless" with the date and time underneath.

Is there a .bin file for the kx414 to remove the banner, such as there is for the LG VX4500 (in yahoo groups)? I used that file succesfully for the VX4500. If so, I'd be interested to know where I could access the appropriate file for the KX414, so that I could do the same.. it's primarily an issue for my wife, and not for myself... she really just wants to see her own banner there!

I find after a set time of the phone in idle it would switch between 'Verizion Wireless' and my banner. You can disable the Verizon wireless banner on the phone but that requires editing a file via the data cable from Kyocera or Future Dial. Heres a thread that can tell you how to do it:

so it sounds like the eri file is the same for all Verizon phones?
although I suppose the easiest thing would be to download from the phone and hex edit the file to be sure... or I can compare my original LG file with the Kyocera file...

imagine that... I had never attempted to turn off the Screen Saver, so there was never enough time for the Verizon banner to go away... So I see there is a timeout after which the user's banner will display... I already ordered the cable, but hopefully I'll be able to use it for ringers and wallpaper.
