Sanyo SCP 5150 Review

Hello can you hear me now? Good! This is just one catchy phrase that one of many cell phone service providers use to mass market their services. I for one have tried all the providers; they are all great in their own way. However, the many cell phone choices are what attracts attention to a company's market.

We all have used our share of cell phones. Nokia© to Motorola© are the most popular choices people tend to purchase on their cell phone networks, but many consumer products have come out with higher class and tons of more features than the current trend of cell phones. Ladies and gentlemen, I introduce to you the Sanyo© SCP-5150.

The Sanyo© SCP-5150 Dual Band Sprint PCS© cell phone is one of the new cell phones out on the market. With a 256 Color LCD screen, this bad boy also includes an extended Li-On battery with an awesome standby time of 10 days and a talk time of 4hours. This is what it said on the box, but after toying around with my new toy, I have noticed an 8day standby time with a good 3:30 hour talk time with the flip open. With it closed and using a headset, I noticed a 4+ hour talk time which is more than any cell phone I have used or tested, and keep in mind that this is a Color LCD Screen, not just your regular Greenish color most cell phones use today.

The most noticeable feature on the SCP-5150 PCS Phone is the Color screen. This is what makes it stand out in front of any other phone out there. In fact, what other cell phone is color? Wait it gets better! Sprint PCS© has this new feature on selected phones called Ringer & More© Option. For just an extra fee, Sprint PCS© users are able to download ringers, images and screen savers to the handsets. Sanyo came prepared. This feature, plus its Color screen, makes it more unique, with the ability to download a picture and display it as either an incoming call image or as standby wallpaper. Who needs color covers when you can change the way it looks and it sounds.

For Some reason, the SCP-5150 also tents to grab more signal than other phones I have tested on the Sprint PCS© Network. This includes inside malls, closed parking lots, heavy constructed buildings and electronic stores like Radio Shack© and Best Buy© where signal is usually faded.

Let me state all the features this PCS phone includes.

So when looking for a cell phone and you want what's new and what others wish they had, try out the Sanyo SCP-5150. It gets my "oooohhh" approval and the ladies love it.
Like they say "can't have cake without the Sweet frosting on top." This has your flavor on the very top.

What many people, including myself, didn't like was the price. It hurts most of us teens without a high paying job. For $375 CDN or $250.00 USD, it hurts to even look at it and think about getting it. Also, the Flip has a click sound to it that gets me a little scared at times, making me think it is cracking and breaking up on me. Also when talking, the phone still displays a few colors and hurts battery life. I recommend you buy a hands free earplug and use it with that, as it enables you to close the phone and still talk. Just a few minuses but in all honesty it's a great phone to own.

For overall performance and testing, I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Not everyone can afford it, it is only for the Sprint PCS Network and it's a little big when the flip its up. I myself have got a small head.
