Hi there, a few questions on the vx7000 phone. I was wondering if there was a limit to the size of an mp3 ringtone for the phone. I can easily take mp3 songs I have and split it into 20 second tones but it'll still be around 800kb, and I'm guessing the phone will have a limit. Also how would you transfer a tune without having the verizon wireless data cable? And lastly I was hoping there was a way to remove the verizon wireless banners without needing to go out and purchase the data cable. Thanks for any help on this.

I have put whole songs on mine with no problem (7000). I haven't tried to put a lot of them on there, but I did at one time have 3.

I have around 30 mp3 clips on there right now, all around 35 to 60 seconds long.

As for the size you said you had on your 20 second clip; man that's awfully big. Most of mine that are around 30 to 35 seconds are only like 50 to 75kb at the very most.

You need to change them from Stereo to mono, and drop your bit rate down a bit. You really won't notice a big difference in the sound, especially with the speaker (if you want to call it that) that all our phones have.

There are multiple free programs that will do this for you. I personally use Audacity. It's very, very easy to use.

As for A way to get the clips onto your phone. Use Verizon's Web site. I have posted this before, so go to the thread---->here and scroll down to about the middle of the thread and you'll find my small tutorial on how to get the mp3's on your phone.

Lastly, there is no way that I know of to get rid of the Verizon banner except for a cable, bitmap and a hex editor, sorry.
