FM on motorbike - K700i or E398 - Shyte I'm confused

G'day all - I just tried to post a thread & it wouldn't allow it so here is a condensed version.(condensed my arse)

I ride a motorbike (GSX1400) & want a mobile that will double up as a music source for long hauls - say 10hrs.

I want a large screen-176x220 fine, reasonable camera,java games, fm more so than mp3. Obviously style & ease of use are up there as well.

1st off, am I barking up the wrong tree with the bike thing - helmetwise will it be uncomfortable??? & what about battery life on a 10hr ride - how will the K700i fare.

I am aware the E398 has no fm but I will grab the plug in fm headset if I like what I read.

Also the E398 is closer to the money I want to spend - however I can afford the K700i if the battery scenario looks good.

Ps I am using a t68i now, which I will keep as spare, so having common leads with spare phone may add weight to the K700i especially as I can be forgetful with recharging

From what I heard the K700i has pretty bad battery life, I dont think it could do a 10hr trip with non stop radio/mp3 going, but then again, I dont think the E398 could either, but it would last longer than the K700i.

Where is the phone going to be while your reading?

Where it always is - jacket pocket. I haven't had the bike license that long & I got caught about 8mths back when it started raining & I put the waterproof lining for the jacket on - slight problem - the pocket with the phone is outside the lining so guess what got saturated?? Quick low warm up in the oven & some tender love n care & the ol T68i was purrin again - it has been a sweet unit - maybe just a bit slow in places but a nice robust phone.

Thanx for replying btw. How do you find the E398?? I find myself drawn to it maybe fractionally more than the K700 but it is still a close call.

I also was going to get either the E398 or the K700i. I finally choose the E398 over the K700i due to the fact it has expandable memory..... as well as the cool flashing lights, oooo.

You can get the E398 in many places, depending on where you live, theres probably a few dealers in your area. You can always go to your local china town, they'd have it most likely. Or you can buy from a dealer here on HoFo, just go to the marketplace. Also, check the BST forums, thats how I got mine, I traded my N6230 for one.
