Sending an MP3/Midi to my phone didn't work

I tried sending an mp3 (with a .mid) file extention to my 8900. I first tried it from my yahoo email account, then from vzwpix.com. When I sent it from vzwpix.com, I sent it to my phone number, not my_number@vzwpix.com. Both times, I got the same result
"Unsupported content type audio/mid EaglesHotelCalifornia.mid"
What am I doing wrong? It's a mono, low-resolution mp3 that I changed the extention tag on. Shouldn't I be able to retrieve that on my phone and use it as a ringtone?

I got it to work by only sending it to your phone # dont use the @vzw.com address. just phone # and attach the file

Sorry I didn't see this. I am having the same problem also, or almost. I can get some songs to go, so I don't think just sending it to your wireless number is the answer. Right now I am 90% sure that it is an issue with file size. I posted above hoping someone would verify.

I think you're right about file size. I dug around and found mention of a 100kb limit. I knocked down an mp3 to 95k, sent it from my yahoo email and it worked fine.

how did you get it smaller. i have already shortened it to 20 seconds. my bit rate is 32 Kbs and i cant make it any lower.

I had a 32kbps 32khz rate, and it's about 20 or 25 seconds long. It came to 95k.
