This is pretty interesting. I caught part of their commercial ads on television the other night and visited their website this morning.

Long and short of it: If there is GSM service in your location, it'll roam onto it and use the services. If there isn't, it will use satellite services!

They have service agreements with 99 countries so far. Very impressive and informative website. Check it out.

Incidentally, the phones they offer might win awards for the uglist modern technology phones around. The Iridium phones at least looked futuristic during its peak moments...

Does anyone know of any other satellite providers. These guys operate mostly in the Middle East. I need satellite service in North America.
