NEC 515 says Invalid SIM

no matter what SIM (AT&T, CINGULAR, TMOBILE) that put into this phone it says INVALID SIM It is an AT&T branded phone. Any suggestions? This is an NEC 515

it might not be, but I already tried an AT&T sim (it has an AT&T logo sticker on the phone) and it still doesnt work

how did you acquire this phone? i remember when unlockin a T68i that I used to have, ATTWS made it so u can only try 1 or 3 times to unlocke the phone... if you made a mistake then the phone would never be unlockable (remotely)... perhaps this is a different issue.

can anyone reply to this with the code necessary to check locks:

Network
Coporate

on t68i it was some stuff like >>***<**>*<**>*<*>*<*>*<*>

hehe... on my x70 it is 746, menu, menu

on nec525/515 it is?

thanks for the tips, I just contacted NEC and they said that it is still under their warranty so I am returning it to them to fix for me.

this phone is att i want to use with t-mobile, anyone got the code to make it work with t-mobile? you know what code im talking about right?

you need nectalk software and an NEC USB cable. it won't work with just a code, has to be done with cable.
