If I get the terminator dongle from ebay - do i need to buy the usb -> t610 connector still for that? or does the dongle unit come with everything I need?

THanks

the one i got off of ebay came with the termintor dongle, cable and software. you should ask the seller that question, they'll be able to tell to.

Definitely message the vendor if you have any questions. I got mine from UnlockCellular (on ebay) - came with the 3-headed cable (lpt, usb and phone connections) and CD-rom with software and flashes.

hey jonazen - I got mine earlier today from the same ebay vendor (unlockcellular)

Did some research and they seemed to be the best in what they included...

should be all good then right?

thanks

My experience was great. Ordered on a Saturday, and had the box on Tuesday or Wednesday as I recall.

Read through the various directions on cellular support website, as well as the docs on the CD that came with the terminator. Wanted to take a bit of time to make sure I didn't toast my z600!

Anyway - I finally decided to go with either DIV 4 or DIV 3.1 "old style" as modified by "merwin" from cellular support.

Read all the instructions VERY carefully - making special note about when to remove the SIM and battery, and when to replace. All very imporant if you like your phone!

Took the time to make a copy of the AVR and ARM files, as well as the GDFS I needed, and placed them all in a separate diretory off the root of my C:\drive. Easy to find, no chance of mixing up file versions, etc.

I'm running on Win/XP home. Plugged the LPT and USB cables into the pc, started up "UserPort.exe" first (from same directory as DIV), and then DIV. DIV came up quickly - no complaints.

Then I plugged into the z600. Everything seemed quite happy. I had it load up the two firmware files first. Decided that I didn't need to replace the gdfs, since I already had a non-branded unlocked z600. But I kept the default gdfs available just in case.

The firmware uploads took a bit longer than I expected - something like 9 or 10 mins for the first file, and several minutes for the second (less than first, however).

After that, I replaced the SIM and rebooted. Took several minutes, but I was aware that it would, so I didn't panic. Phone was a tiny bit sluggish at first, but within a couple of minutes was zipping along faster and smoother than it ever worked before.

Anyway - long answer to your short question. But the dongle and CD I got from Unlock Cellular was fine, and an excellent price. I'd happily look him up again if I needed something else that he sells.

Good luck with this!
