What does the term unlocked mean.

It is where you can use a Boost phone for Nextel. That way if you bought a Boost phone and all your buddies have Nextel you can unlock it and talk to them.

Actually it means that your Boost Mobiel phone is unlocked to be used with a Nextel SIM.
