Putting CF62 firmware on a CF62T

Hey,

I was wondering: is it is possible to use CF62 firmware on the T-Mobile CF62T? Also, will doing this let me edit my own internet profiles (or does the CF62T let you do this already?)?.

Thanks

The CF62 firware would not be compatible with the CF62T since the C62 is GSM 900/1800/1900 and the CF62T is GSM 850/1800/1900 so that wouldn't work. Siemens usually posts firmware updates frequently, when it comes down to the U.S. models however it takes a while so we'll just have to wait.

As for the profiles, I haven't used a t-mobile branded Siemens, try going to Menu - t-zones and then go to your browser menu and see if you get anything...if you do go down to "More..." and you should get 'Profiles', 'Setup' etc.

Not quite.
T-Mobile's CF62T does NOT have the 850 band.

It works off the exact same frequencies as the CF62 (900/1800/1900)

Hope that helps...

This brings us back to the original question...

Since both phones operate on the same frequencies, is it safe to say that the 62T is simply a T-Mobile Branded 62? Would this also mean that the 62 firmware could be applied?

bump!

Does anyone know the answer to this? Even though TMobile crippled the phone by removing the voice dial and saving pictures, Siemens refuses to flash the phone to the CF62 OEM software.

I emailed seimens about this, they said there are hardware differences. However the info page on my cf62t says its a cf62. I wonder what the real differences are. I have used cf62t with siemens data suite and dca-510 data cable and uploaded ringtones and backgrounds and logos.

I've a CF62T locked to the T-Mobile USA network. In order to remove the T-Mobile branding I was told to flash a different FW version to it, however the update was "denied" by the phone using WINSWUP. If I get an unlock code and unlock my phone will I be able to remove the branding then with WINSWUP?

I'd rather not mess with testpoints.

Only testpoint, then fullflash downgrade with freia (for example),then correct swup with your lang. And ffs if you wish
It's only way to unbranding.

I've succesfully cut the testpoint, but when I tried downgrading with WINSWUP it said no bootcore present.

I presume I should get a CF62 fullflash, flash it to the phone and then downgrade the SW (unlocking then with sw11)? Would I be able to use V_KLay for this or should Freia be used?

You can use freia, set phone as m55,after flashing- repair imei, then swup.
