SE44 Slider/Data Kit

I would like to put a picture of my Girlfriend on my SE44 Slider background. Would it require this Data Kit to do this?
Or can I somehow send it to my phone another way?

I have already done this on my phone. Yes you need the data cable. Just read this thread: Link and it will tell you everything you need to know.
