HK price for Pantech G800 & GF200 ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: dko3tgk

I'll be having someone traveling to HK at the end of this week. And I am either having him buy me the Pantech G800 or GF200.

Can some people in HK kindly post the current price for the Pantech G800 and GF200 in HK? Street price and brand name store retail.

Also since I had no response to my previous post regarding these phones:

1. Is there English language on these phones or only Chinese?

2. Does anyone have pictures of the blue G800 and GF200 besides the press release photos?

3. Does anyone have either of these phones that would like to post a response about these phones?

So yes, current HK prices for these phones and reviews and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I have a blue GF200. If I have time I'll post up pictures later.

It's a good phone. It does have English menu. I got mine for 16,000NTD, which I dont know how much that is in HK dollars.

The phone has ok reception. I'd say its only on par with the SE K700i. The screen is really nice even thought its only 128x160. It's pretty cool that you can take videos and use them as your background for the inside and outside screen. THe video quality is really good too. The framerate is very high, and the picture quality is really good. It's weird though because the camera quality is only ok compared to the video for some reason. But I like the phone a lot. Its really high quality, and I like the sound interface it has.

Hi - pics of the GF 200 would be great. Can you tell us what the infrared port is good for? Can you transfer pics and videos to your PC? Thanks a lot in advance!

A few questions:

Can the voice memo record a conversation, or only in stand-by?

Does it have a speakerphone?

Does it have a LED on the outside that can flash in different colors depending on call groups and/or sms? how long does it flash if you get a sms/mms?

Is the sound quality of a conversation also very good and loud?

Cheers,
Hjorten

Thanks a bunch..!

Just to see if I have understood you correctly.

1) It can record both sides of a conversation?

2) You mean by handsfee that you can hold the phone away from you and talk without using a handsfree cord/headset, right?

3) You can assign different colors to different people?

:

Cheers,
Jorgen

Thanks again.. Only problem with those sites is that they don't specify much details..

Is it possible to have active clamshell, so you can answer a call by just opening the phone?

My G500 doesn't have this...

Hi, my G600 has active flip!

Then I assume GF200 has too, even though assumptions are the mother of all ...-ups

Thanks alot Funmap!! A beer or two to you!

Btw. What do you think of your G600? Sound quality of conversations, ease of writing sms, everything?

My G500 crashes when I receive a flash-sms (one that's showed directly in the display) - have they solved this?

Posted by: Funmap

I never received a flash SMS :-) Sound quality very good, SMS writing is good too, only hassle is looking up a name in the phone book. Yoou need three clicks. Otherwise very well build, flash is weak though, camera quality not on par with Samsung, good only in good light. But I can recommend it!

There's one thing that really ticks me off with my G500 and sms's...

When I write SMS, and use T9 English instead of multitap, I get the following nightmare.
In order to type "Hey.. How are you?", I have to type "Hey" then hold # down for a while to get a '.' - Then it gets really bad, because now I have to go through the menu to choose T9 English again in order to be able to write new words. This is major pain, and makes it take forever to compose a sms.

Is it better on G600?

Right!! But that said, you can convert mp3 to mmf.. Quality is not as good as mp3, but you can do it..

Btw. How do you find your Inno55? In terms of quality, sms speed/usage, etc?

Actually...I've been using the mp3 to mmf converter that comes with the innostream phones to convert mp3s and then i just upload it to my GF200 with the pc sync for pantech .. Really simple.
