Originally posted by ryno267 I want to update my T610 1. If I update my t610 to the t616 firmware i'm assuming everything will be fine (i just lose the 850/900 bands, which I dont use cause I never leave the USA) -> Other people have done this and reported no problems other than what you've stated above. 2. If I update my firmware to the t630 - and DONT use the new TFT screen - will that still work? Like I may want to get the new housing and all, but don't know if I can afford the screen just yet. So If I flash to the t630 firmware will it still work with the t610 lcd ? -> The T630 firmware is specific to the TFT display. If you do not have the TFT screen do NOT use the T630 firmware on a T610 LCD. 3. Can I switch my t610 antenna out with the t616 or t630 antenna and 1 have it work, and 2 have it improve overall reception? And do I need the upgraded firmware to just put in the new antenna?? -> New firmware is not necessary for the T616 antenna in a T610. There have been mixed opinions on this. Majority of those that I've read swear by a significant improvement in signal and call quality. Some have reported minimal changes. And I've read one very detailed explanation as to why you should NOT swap the antennas out - it will (eventually?) result in damage to your T610's circuitry. I forget where I read that post but it's got to be somewhere in HoFo. Good luck! -N- Thanks guys - just kinda confused reading through all those threads of differentiating opinions...
