Treo 600: using WAP mini-browser instead of full HTML, 5$ a month unlimited

I have spoken to the people at the 1x tech suport for bell and they assure me that treo users can use a WAP minibrowser (costs 5$ a month for unlimited use) not only the full and expencive HTML browser.
I looked into this optian because i just want to be able to check my sympatico and hotmail e-mail accounts on my phone and don't want to spend 25$ amonth when i don't need to download files onto my treo.
Now I have dowloaded some WAP browsers for Palm (when i test them all out and find which works and what is the best i will report it).
I do however need to know what is the homepage adress for the WAP minibrowser for bell phones. It should be a default setting on normall 1x bell phones. the tech guy didn't even know the answer.
Once I have this info I can test out the browsers I have.
Out of intrest does anyone have a WAP browser for the Treo that works really well.
this is what i have so far:

you dont have to pay $25/month, you can use pay per use the going rate I believe is $15/meg with no data features, although there are benefits to subscribing to a data feature.

I am aware of that but if all i am doing is checking e-mail (sympatico, hotmail) paying 5$ a month for unlimited use sounds good to me.
the bell technition assured me it can be done, one just has to find a WAP browser that works on the treo, but palm doesn't make one (at least not for the treo).
None of mine have worked thus far.
Also I need to know he SMPT setting of teh bell 1x WAP network; specifically, what is the adress of the bell mobility wap page?

if you launch any app other then the openwave browser, it will not bill mobile browser fees but data.
if there is a way around this, I am unclear of how, nor would I think bell would support a circumvention of legitmate data fees to be classfied as "browser" usage when it is infact a palm app being usec with the unit "tricked" into thinking its browser.
Someone might know of a legimiate way of this but atm I have not heard of one.

that $5 for WAP is just that for WAP browsing...anything outside of that you're going to pay for data...like email

I think you misunderstand.
if you are browsing using a WAP minibrowser (i.e. the simplified browser that can only open very specific pages in a simplified maner for cell phones)
now this service is ment for 1x phones not smartphones.
But i have been told that if you find a WAP minibrowser for palm use, you can access these simplified web pages on the treo.
Now if you only want to do searches for phone numbers , check e-mail and other such simplified things and don't mind dealing in a WAP text only environment then you don't have to use the full html browser and full html service that comes with the treo and is charged at 15$/mb.
This is not a trick, or some way to cheat the system.
I have spoken to tech support at bell.
In my case sympatico e-maila nd hotmail can both be accessed through WAP, as i have done on my old mobile phone.
That is why i want to find a WAP browser for the TREO

hmm does the treo not come with a regular wap browser? my 7135 did, it should have one, id have to confirm that though, would seem odd to release a unit that would not have it as it does generate revenue.

I don't know how Bell bills us but when I use Webviewer in my Audiovox 8450 for http browse(not WAP), I was not charged by BM so far.

picking up my Treo600 today...if it's there, i know people with GSM versions also use Blazer (included) and that's a WAP browser...if it uses the $5 browser...that'll save me a lot of dough too.

okay yes its a WAP browser out of the box, the data plan gives you HMTL so $5 for unlimited is right...if it still is unlimited? I'll look around for those things you need but i'm most likely going on a data plan.

the blazer browser works well....dont have an answer regarding BM addy for you, I just setup my rogers...it's going to be billed pay per use...i dunno? the push mail works well but I set mine to manual receive as i'll only use it if i'm expecting an important email on the road.
