I smell and end to webjal. Remember how in webjal loading ringers can only be done through the wallpapers menu? Then the ringtone is found in the media center? Well I'm sure that method can be used with this software.

There is a Jalcomm DLL in this program...
Does anybody know WTF is "protected media". Wall papers are marked this and can't be sent from the "My Pictures" folder.

It is not that out of the ordinary for this.... If you loaded it with webjal, why would you need to transfer it from your phone to your pc. It is already on your pc from when you loaded it with webjal...

The i860 manual seems to refer to protected media as "forward locking" media. It suggests that copyrighted material would typically be forward locked--for ex., OTA'd 'tones and 'papers. As users will want to push this content to others, looks like the next skirmish in the file-sharing war is underway... --BAM

Just a battle

The next step is to find this parrameter...
Asar had it right. This must be done by the JAL. I would think that media sent to the phone via email won't have this protection.

What do you mean by "sent by email", Yo? You mean by MMS or MO-SMS? Let's walk through this... --BAM

Posted by: YoDude

I would imagine that the phone can receive MMS right? Attachments etc...
I have been looking for a MMS client for my computer. There is something called "My Motorola Mail" that was recently developed. I can't find a download though.

The closest I've come is this http://www.motorola.com/MSP/product...se/plugins.html
It won't open on my machine though.

This is something I found also. https://www.vazu.com/
It might have promise but I can't get the verification text message that the company sends to the phone for some reason.

I found a quick solution to protected media.

Here is what I was doing. I was taking High res/Fine pictures, modifying them with Photoshop, then uploading with WebJal for CallerId Pics.

People saw how good the photos were, and wanted copies. But when you upload with WebJal, it views them as Protected Media.

Solution: I eMail them to the phone <PhoneNumber>@messaging.nextel.com and they come in as forwardable media...

The only problem I run into now is, if I email a .WAV or .MP3 to myself, I can only listen to 3 seconds of it.

What is up with that??

yeah, also if you do this, you cant post the pics as wallpapers, just caller id.

Only thing is when you upload from nextel.com media center. It doesn't allow you to make it into a ring tone and cuts the music short. Oh well hopefully someday someone will figure out a crack. Ying and Yang baby

I have been reading alot here and hoping i could one day give back and i think today is that day.

I got it. I figured it out by accident. I will keep that to my self in case Nextel wants to change it around so I can find it again.

To whom ever can tell me what the “type=plmn” in the email address does can help.

To send attachments unprotected use without quotes or parenthesis
"+(PhoneNumber)/TYPE=PLMN@messaging.nextel.com"

I am at work so I could not try this will all types of attachments but I made a .JPG 320x240 in MS Paint, it worked. I also sent myself a .WAV from windows and that came in unprotected.

HAVE FUN.

Wait, whatr is the benefit???

Posted by: docrock00

The benefit would be that you can forward the photo to others as well as using it for wallpapers rather then just caller ID.

Is there any way to save VoiceRecords to the PC?

Posted by: docrock00

Sankin, this is a bit off topic but I'll answer your question. Yes ther eis. Understand you CAN email voice records to yourself from your i860 handset but ONLY those which are NOT recorded phone conversations.
Now as for all other handsets and for recorded phone conversations, there is a great method I've been using for years to do this as I've had both a stalker which conversations and voice mails needed to be copied for safe keeping as well as forwarded to authorities across the nation.
Radio shack has an amplified adaptor. It plugs into your mic jack on your computer, has an amp inline(powered by two AAA batteries) and has a 2.5 mm jack to plug into your headset jack on your handset(also has a 2.5 mm jack on the amp so you can plug a headset in a listen while recording). Very VERY simple to use and well worth it if you need it to get alot of recordings and when they MUST not have any disruptions such as the normal feedback that all nextel handsets are known for when put close to an unsheilded device. Here's the link to the device I'm talking about, hope it works as well for you as it has served melists for $24.905). http://www.radioshack.com/product.a...855&site=search

how do i transfer a media file to my phone

Posted by: docrock00

I hate to even say this but, for your first post this isn't a great one. Use the search feature and read up on some related posts, it'll more then answer your question. After that, feel free to ask a member here or a mod, just understand that questions(among others) is and has been answered countless times previous, so times like this the search feature really will help you out. Good luck.
