trying Connecting to the internet using K-700 ?

I am trying to connect to the internet with my apple powerbook using my K-700 (using bluetooth) the message i am getting is "no carrier detected" can anyone help with this problem.
i think i have all the settings
Modem: sonyericson infrared
phone number :*99***1#

check that your airtime provider has enabled data access for your phone - many networks disable it by default. If data access is not enabled, you will always get a 'no carrier' result from Remote Access. This also applies to GPRS service - you may have to request GPRS access, or even get a new SIM card to use it.

I am also guessing you are using OSX if so select ericcson t39 28.8 for standard dial up as a modem script. I am using OSX 10.3.5 with a K700i via bluetooth on Orange with those settings all ok

its working now i had to choose the t39 for the modem but its really slow it connects at 2400

Hi 2400 is as good as it gets unless you use GPRS, you can get GPRS modem scripts and settings from this web site http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ You will of course have to get your provider ie orange etc to enable GPRS but that will take the speed up to about 56k which is as good as a internal modem.

I tend to just use it for getting emails so speed is not a big issue.

yes i have GPRS i got my motorola V80 to work but still my K-700 wont work.
