I have already purchased snapdialer and snapsync well over a year ago, but i had a hard drive crash and I can't find the cd. I use bitpim anyways I was wondering if someone had the installer file and could e-mail it to me. I have looked on futuredials site and for some reason its not workin. So if anyone has time and could e-mail it I appreciate it,
thanx,
josh

Hello!
I'm a newbie to howard forums and the whole using your computer with your phone world. I've had my 6000 a little more than a year. Now I'm finding that the programs to use the cable I bought at Radio Shack are 30 bucks a piece! Can I mooch and get the programs too? Or is there anywhere I can download what I need to get ringtones/games/animations to my phone? I'm just a lowly student, who until today worked for VZW (I was a temp, but after today they don't need temps until holidays), therefore I'm POOR!! Thanks for any help! My email is Magliwan@hotmail.com

You can download program called BitPim (i use version 7.16) and drivers from FutureDial (all for free). But you do need to buy a cable. I use one from Radio shack. It is compatable with lg vx 6000/4500. Make sure you buy one with a "bulge" in the middle. I think it's about $20. If you need step-by-step instructions use this:
1. Buy radioshack cable

2. Download BitPim software Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

3. Download FutureDial USB Drivers

4. Uninstall any previously loaded usb/port drivers

5. Install USB Installer.exe

6. Under phone selection, scroll up to select LG 6000

7. Re-boot pc (after successfull installation)

8. Turn on LG 6000, select MENU 8, 6, 2, USB

9. Turn phone off, then back on to re-boot

10. Attach USB>serial cable to both phone and pc

PC will automatically detect & install New Device

11. Install bitpim_7.16_setup.exe

Goodluck. Let us know if you have any problems.

I'm actually having a problem.

I purchased a Futuredial cable, but not the software because I was planning to use Bitpim. However, XP won't recognize the cable, Bitpim won't recognize the cable, and the drivers that I download from futuredial don't seem to have an install file, or a file that add/hardware will recognize. It has an uninstall file, but no install exe or usual driver file that I can find.

Where did I go wrong, and what steps should I take to make this work?

I was having the same problem with the futureDial cable I picked-up at Radio Shack and just got it to work. You are right, there is no install file in the download from FutureDial. You need to pick-up a copy FutureDial's USB Installer.exe. I did a search and found it.

I followed Barmalei's procedure (Thanks Barmalei) and it worked like a champ .

Being a total newbie at messing around with a phone, I'm impressed that i can add contacts using my computer's keyboard. Next step read up on how to get rid of that Verizon banner

Be seeing you

Does someone have a link to futuredials file for the drivers?

I have a friend that can't get the drivers working that I have working on my computer, and I'm thinking that if he tries theirs, it will work. If anyone either has the link, or has the file, I will upload it to a permant site for others.

In case anyone needs the USB installer, bitpim, instructions on how to setup the LG VX6000 as a dial-up modem, or winhex, please feel free to use the following link! http://briefcase.yahoo.com/beetnick552002

Is there anyway I could use your briefcase to download the installer as well, I just picked up the USB cable today and realized that I forgot to get drivers for it. I think you have to add me to be able to access your briefcase. Thanks

I am also searching for the USB installer so I can start using BitPim and transfer some wallpaper to my phone. Here is my e-mail: hardcore_c_hxc@yahoo.com

Thanks,
Chris

I'm in the same boat -- cable from radio shack w/o software.

I'm looking for the install driver too. Anyone??

Posted by: TriscuiT

Perhaps this is what we need?

Posted by: misfit_toy

Thanks for the reply, but I had already downloaded that particular set. It doesn't include an installer, only an UNinstaller.

I pretty much have the exact same problem that was posted above but I can't get to the person's "briefcase" who orginally said he had an Installer.

I am also in need of the usb installer.

Tried the USBtoSerial Drivers but it just uninstalls after i put the missing ini file in win/sys32 folder.

Tried the dnet driver also, but no luck.

After the dnet driver installed i plugged the cable in. the dnet device is listed as COM4 in device manager, but when i try BitPim it says COM4 is inoperable. When i try QPTS only com ports 1 and 2 show up.

Lastly, when i try to install a few other apps i get errors saying its not WinXP signed and the installer fails out.

any suggestions?

Ok...I'm completely new and have no clue. I bought the FutureDial data cable from Radio Shack and then downloaded the drivers from two different places. Both times they tell me that to install them I have to have the disk. I'm sure I'm just doing something stupid but could someone please help me out? I have win98se and the vx6000. Thanks!

Hey Scarlette623,

Here are the step by step instructions which were originally for the VX6000...

1. Buy radioshack cable
2. Download BitPim software Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
3. Download FutureDial USB Drivers
4. Uninstall any previously loaded usb/port drivers
5. Install USB Installer.exe
6. Under phone selection, scroll up to select LG 6000
7. Re-boot pc (after successfull installation)
8. Turn on LG 6000, select MENU 8, 6, 2, USB
9. Turn phone off, then back on to re-boot
10. Attach USB>serial cable to both phone and pc
PC will automatically detect & install New Device
11. Install bitpim_7.16_setup.exe

**For the driver, here is where you can download it:
