Hi,
I'm about to make a adaptor like this, I cut the pop-port plug from my HDS-3.
After soldering the 4 speaker wires into the 3.5mm socket I have 4 more wires (cut) that I don't know what to do with:
(pins ordered from left to right)
1. charge(v charge)
2.GND(charge GND)
3.ACI(insertion & removal detection)
8.GND(data GND)
Will the phone recognize the adaptor or may I connect one/more wires together/to somthing?
Thanks

While there is a nice post about a simple mod, nokia, or an aftermarket, should consider selling just that, a pop port to 3.5mm headphone adaptor for "quality" headphones. The MP3 player of the 6230 really demands better ear peices.
Does any one know if the HS-3 headset has better phones than the HDS-3 set? According to most shops they sit at the same price point (again not to mention the similar part number) which leads me to beleive they are essentially the same thing, one made to look more like iPod phones.
Enough from me.

Nokia just released the hs-8 (nokia.com)
I was wondering if the cord from the pop-port to the controller in the hs-3 is thinner & more flexible than the cord of the hds-3.
Thanks

That HS-8 looks the best of the lot, if it weren't for the wrap around star-trek ear phones.

so guys,
is the hs-3 cord from the pop-port to the controller is thinner & more flexible than the hds-3 cord?

I don't have an HS-3 only the HDS-3 that came with my phone.
Sorry.

Ok, Don't be sorry...
Anyone know the above question's answer?

Didn't someone here successfully do this and have it listed for sale in the marketplace forum?
I'd certainly pay for one if someone can take the HDS-3/HS-3 and mod it for an adapter so you can use any headphones but still use to answer calls.
Any entrepreneurs out there?

I modded my pop port adaptor. Works great, and allows me to hide the mic in my pocket and only pull it out when needed, instead of having it hang around my neck.
I also saw a Pop-Port to 2.5mm adaptor at a local electronics store. For lazy folks out there you could buy another stereo headset, like the one intended for the Moto E398 and use that. The adaptor was $10 CDN.

I've seen such a thing in an online store.. But I have to search where it was..
But you can plug it in your 6230 and than put a 3.5mm headset in it..
I look around if I can find it.

I realised that I still wanted the microphone attached to the headphones so that I didn't have to yank out the pop-port every time I got a call. It's too bad there's no bluetooth lapel microphone, but the audio is routed to the wired headphones. Now that would be amazing.
