german Siemens S45 with french orange card?

Hey,
i will live for some month in france, and a do have a german e-plus Simcard for my Siemens S45 which is not SIM locked!!
So i want to use a recharchable french provider card. let's say Orange.
But when i insert that SIM card the S45 Cellphone says Card not accepted.
Why? what can i do, to use an orange card?
