When you update, you're most likely flashing a non-branded version of the firmware instead of the branded T-Mobile version of the firmware. About the only difference is that a couple of the icons might be different - and you actually might have more functionality with the new, non-branded firmware.

Using t-zones with non-branded firmware is easy. You have a couple of options.

I've got a z600, so it's probably a bit different than your t610, but internally they're VERY similar phones.

First - make sure you've got your data accounts and WAP profiles set up. If you've lost them with the upgrade, you can go to either T-Mobile's configurator page or Sony Ericsson's configurator page -- answer a couple of questions, and the site will SMS appropriate settings to your phone so you can reach your T-Zones account.

Then - to get to GPRS services on the phone:

On the z600, I can go in 1 of 2 ways, and I'm guessing that you can too:

1) Menu up - loads the internal Sony Ericsson wap web page. From the top down, it reads:

Sony Ericsson
Internet Services
Search engine
Picture Gallery
Onlne Manual
Settings

The bottom 4 are links that will bring you online to real web/wap pages.

You could also, from this menu, hit the "more" button (right phone menu button), and select "T-Zones GPRS" - this should take you to the T-Zones home page (I think it's wap.myvoicestream.com).

2) Press the joystick in (center push)
- the upper left icon should, if you're properly set up with data and wap accounts, read "T-Zones GPRS" - select it, and you'll be taken to the t-zones home page again.

Also: if you're having trouble, just call t-mobile customer care - they'll help you through this pretty quickly.
