G51 Cingular Wap Settings--Help Please!

I just bought my g51 from ebay unlocked. It works great on my network (Cingular) but I can't get the GPRS/wap settings to work. I've tried all the usuals (wap@cingular, cingular1, etc etc) but nothing works. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Thanks so much!

I decided to email Panasonic and got an immediate response, most impressed:

FOLLOW EXACTLY IT DEFINETLY WORKS!!

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Panasonic G51M GSM cellular phone. Provided below are the instructions for configuring the Panasonic G51’s WAP Browser for use with Cingular’s GPRS internet service.

1. From the phone's standby display (idle mode screen), press the Menu button once.

2. In the main menu, scroll down to the "Phone Option" menu and press the Select button once.

3. Highlight "GPRS Setting" and press the Select button once.

4. If "Cingular" is not displayed, highlight on of the fields that is indicated as "<Empty>" and press the Select button once.

5. Enter "Cingular" in the line below "Server Name" and press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once

6. Enter "wap.cingular" in the line below "GPRS APN" and press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once.

7. Enter "WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM" in the line below "Login Name" and press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once.

8. Enter "CINGULAR1" in the line below "Password" and press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once.

9. In the field under "Authentication" field, press the Set button once.

10. Highlight "Activate" and press the Select button once.

11. Press the Save Save button once to set and save.

12. Press the Back button once.

13. Scroll to the "Browser" menu and press the Select button once.

14. Highlight "Settings" and press the Select button once.

15. Highlight one of the field that is indicated as "<Empty>" and the Edit button once.

16. Enter "Cingular" in the line below "Server Name" and press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once.

17. Enter "66.209.11.61" in the field directly below "IP Address". To enter in a "." press and hold the 0 button until a dot is displayed and then immediately release the zero button.

18. Press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once until the cursor is flashing in front of the first digit in the field below "IP Port"

19. Enter "9201" and then press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once to advance to the next field.

20. Enter "device.home" after "http://" and press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once to advance to the next field.

21. Enter "240" in the field directly below "Linger Time" and then press the down arrow direction on the navigation key once to advance to the "Select Mode" field.

22. Press the Set button once, highlight "GPRS Setting" and the press the Select button once.

23. Press the down arrow direction on the navigation key twice to advance to the "GPRS Setting" field.

24. Press the Set button once, scroll down using the navigation key until "Cingular" is highlighted and press the Select button once.

25. Press the Save button once and then press the Activate button.

26. Finally, highlight "Start Browser" and press the Select button once to begin a browser session.

· Note: The first time that the browser is activated there will be no content stored so the Home URL content will be displayed (as defined by the network operator). The Home URL will be recalled from the cache, each time the browser is activated. (Cache is the part of the phone's memory that stores content downloaded from a previous data session).

did you get the g51m or g51u, I just bought the g51m? which by specs is 900/1800/1900 but the listing is for 850/1800/1900. I bought it from wireless rush. not sure if I got the right model. any help is appreciated and thanks for the initial post. this info will help alot
