Hello all,
I've had a T616 for about 6 months now, and I'd like to replace it with something else. I've taken the phone to Europe twice - the first time it didn't work at all in Germany or Holland, even though Cingular assured me that it would. The second time, in Ireland, it also didn't work so I bought a sim locally and then it worked in Dublin but nowhere else.
I dont' go to Europe _that_ often, but when I do it's nice to have a phone that works.
I love the bluetooth. I never use the camera. I hate having to unlock the phone every time I use it because it's a candybar and I carry it in my pocket, and I'm thinking a flip phone or clam is the way to go.
Looking around, the V600 seems to be the thing to get...Best Buy will let me get it for $150 as part of adding my wife to my plan. BUT, I read reviews ranging from "it's total garbage" to "it's awesome", and there is apparently this 850 band issue to think about - I have no idea if it would affect me or not.
Sooooo....
Anyone else out there move from a T616 to a V600?
What other phones should I be looking at?
Thanks!
Steve

Here is what your issue is the T616 is a triband phone meaning it is missing the one gsm feq so yes my suggestion is to switch to the V600 or the V551 when it comes out in October, early Nov or another phone that is a true world phone with all of these listing on the phone specs which is GSM 850/1900 and 900/1800 first set is US system and the second set is Europe and Asia System you T616 only has 850/1900/1800 in the phone this is why some area it work and did not work hope this helps
