Originally posted by devcingular I have been able to upload/download photos to the phone without a problem. I'm using the L1100 software (from the UK LG site) with a datacable that came with the DataPilot software suite. One thing to make sure is that you have the right baudrate set for the phone. I tried 115200 and had problems connecting. Using 57600 was a lot more reliable. Remember that there is a seperate function for download photos to the phone versus retrieving photos from the phone. To retrieve photos, you click on the icon of a camera. To transfer pictures to the phone, you have to click on the paintbrush/pallete icon. No trouble transferring the ringtones that came with the L1100 software. |

Originally posted by useless where on the UK site did you find the software, and is it the same as the one from the USA site? I got the US version but maybe the UK version is different? Lg's site seems to suck pretty bad when it comes to looking for software like that. Also, what usb drivers are you using? I would really like to get this to work for me. |

Originally posted by jadavison I too have been having this problem. I have been able to successfully update my phonebook and upload ringtones and pictures to my phone, but I have not been able to retrieve pictures from the phone or upload Java Games to the phone. I am using the FutureDial Data Cable and the PL-2303 USB Drivers with the L1100 software. I would love to hear from anyone with that has had success getting this to work with any software. |

Originally posted by jayhovah Hey all you guys that have data cables for your l1400... l1200 people seemed to have some success using the 7050 software spoken about in this thread. They claim they can get pics OFF the phone... anyone want to give it a shot? (then again, they can also get pics off with the 1100 software) |

Originally posted by amadeus_m I'll give this phone a bit more chance, as the unit itself is not bad. However, I may go with the V400 like Useless above if no resolution can be found. Both Nokia and Motorola offer better customer and sofware support than does LG. IMHO of course |

Originally posted by useless too much trouble to get such a basic function to work.... I have a moto V400 on the way and as soon as it get here I'm sending back the LG as fast as the scud missile I'm gonna strap it on will fly. A cell phone is one gadget that I just want to "work" when I use it. If cellphone hacking and modding was a hobby for me maybe I would deal with the hassle, but I need it to just work. |

I got 1mb download now on my phone, how do I upload a ringtone and download it on my phone?? Plus, anyone know maximum file via WAP? (its 20kb on data cable sadly) |

Originally posted by blahness look in your add/remove programs for a program called "default" Update: nevermind i figured it out... who ever made the install packages from LG is a *******... install the "Default" then browse to "C:\program files\your company name\G7050_English" then run the setup.exe that is in the folder |
|
Originally posted by Foladar Wasn't there, but I just reinstalled my 1100 software, yay. How do you use WAP to send a file? |

Originally posted by blahness well i am going to be trying it out (using IR) as soon as i get to work tomorrow. I'll post the results then ![]() update: i downloaded the installs from the links that provided above. When i run the exe the installshield wizard looks like it was a install package that has nothing in it... it installs as "default" and in effect does not look like it installs anything at all. The L1100_English.exe software does the same thing to me and i have been using the L1100_UK_1 software. anyone else run into the same problem i have? Thanks |

Originally posted by blahness I have never used the WAP features sorry.. The LGGSM software for the G7050 looks EXACTLY like the software for the l1100... but the G7050 software is a slightly older version... it doesnt give me much hope that it will work but who knows. I have gone as far as i can today and I will post my findings tomorrow morning |

oh well maybe i'll try some of the newer software up on lg's site

Originally posted by jayhovah I wonder if it is possible to get the original firmware from LG global (pretty sure LG north america wouldnt give it to us). I'll bet restoring this little guy back to the way LG had intended it to be would solve alot of the problems. Can anyone tell me what the status of putting wallpaper/ringtones on the phone is? I had heard something about a 20kb maximum. Is this the same with both software? |
|
Originally posted by jayhovah Id that 20k limited to the datacable? Or WAP also? I have no idea how to flash the phone.. maybe if we oculd get ahold of a international LG rep they could get us the firmware and instructions to flash using the data cable. Jay |

Originally posted by jayhovah 20kb limit blows.... i was trying to convert an mp3 to mmf for a ringtone, 20k is just under 5 seconds. I am keeping this phone, but hopefully we will be getting some new firmware eventually. |
