LG L1150 data cable etc...

We have 3 LG L1150s (US, ATT) -- just got the data cable (running XP Pro). I don't have any drivers or software, but I did download the USB to Serial drivers from Future Dial. My server detects the USB cable straight away, but the phone doesn't detect anything. Also, I have the LG Universal Kit (pc sync, internet kit, contents bank). The serial drivers are not detected when XP tries to "Add New Hardware".
What exactly am I doing wrong and is there ANY software out there available?
My main reason is I'd like to get my ringtones and wallpaper back on my phone (I recently returned my phone because it was damaged -- first time out my downloads were pretty much free, but not this time). Also, I'd like to get RID of the !@#$% operator logo on the internal LED.
Any chance this Bitpim software might solve my problem?
