I was wondering if my sister should get a Sanyo SCP-5000?? I read Howard's review and it seems like a bad phone... but I want to know what other people think about it.

Thanks

My friend had the 5000 and hated it. After a week he went back to his Timeport. He got plenty of dropped calls with the 5000. I've heard that the 5150 was much better, so if any phone get that.

I think it's a great phone.. well.. I used to live in Korea,
and Sanyo 5000 fits specs and stuff of my phone back in korea
hmm.. If u dont want to pay full price of it, I can sell you mine for $300 CDN with 2 batteries(you will need more than 1 for sure), 2 car chargers, leathercase, software, cable for connecting your phone to PC, Contact Cynic Software, and original box, recipt, and everything. Why I want to sell this phone is I am running out of $ and I will have to disconnect my phone soon. so I want to sell it. this phone was swaped brand new last month and it's in mint/new condition.

I think you should see if you can find a 5150 pretty cheap before you buy a 5000. Because the 5150 gets better battery life(bigger battery), and supports 3G Voice. If you want a 3G Data phone, I recommend the 4900...I've heard good things about that phone. And I'm starting to hear some good things about the N400. Both are priced pretty good, but I really like Sanyo phones so I would get 4900.

They're in Canada; I don't think Telus ever offered the 5150. Sprint has both the 5000 and the 5150, and of course for a Sprint customer I'd recommend the 5150, but I don't think our friends up north have that option.

That really sucks for them, cuz the 5150 is an awesome phone!

Dont buy the 5000 unless you get it for a GOOD deal used!!! Like maybe $75-100USD. Because it really isnt worth much.. They probably will be coming out with the 5300 soon anyways...

well again, he's in Canada

well after reading some more reviews, user opinions, i don't think my sister will like the phone, basically because of the sound quality and it's outdated(well in the US) but still....

The phone is a great phone if you never leave the city...its one of those phones that either you like it or you dont....personally, the menu key was too far to reach quickly on the phone, located in the bottom left corner on the phone. It was an overall awkward interface....I wouldn't jump for it unless I got a sweet deal on a used model...

Buy with caution...you may be happy, you may be upset!
