What up all,
I'm kinda a noob to this stuff, so hopefully I can get some help on this matter. I bought a data cable for my VX 6000, but when I"m trying to get the data from the phone to the BitPim program, i can see it running my contacts through on the bottom status bar of the program, but then it gives me this message:
An unexpected exception has occurred.
Please see the help for details on what to do.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "gui.pyo", line 197, in run
File "gui.pyo", line 138, in __call__
File "gui.pyo", line 1003, in getdata
File "com_lgvx4400.pyo", line 289, in getcalendar
KeyError: 0
Can anybody give me some advice on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated. Also does anybody know what program I could use preferrably free that can switch mp3 to midi format. Thanks again

Hmmmm... It's the first time I ever heard about a VX6000 version of BitPim! Are you refering to the 0.7.18 version which include the VX6000 phone model? If so, it doesn't work either with the LG 6070 and I'm getting the same error message.
I'm stuck too ;(
On the other hand if there is a VX6000 version of BitPim, please email-me at jean.net@cgocable.ca
Thx,

It actually worked, I had to change the setting from my phone from USB to RS 232 C, and it fixed the problem. Thanks for the posts though.

Hi,
Your response intrigues me quite a bit.... Do you mean that you are connecting with a USB cable but you had to change your phone settings to RS-232 for this to work?
Thx

Well I think I'm using the .62 version of bitpim. I couldn't get it to work initially, but then I changed my setting from USB to the R (setting) and now it works fine. however, does anybody know if you can put games onto this phone, and if you do ... how?? Thanks

THE USB implementation in LG phones suck..
the cables that work have a serial conversion chip in the box in the cable
the computer sees the cable as a NEW virtual com port.
so the phone has too be set to RSC 232..
this is 'SO documented' on this forum..
