Can anyone help me out here, Cause Tmobile and danger sure couldnt. I am tryin to set my SK2 up so my aol mail comes directly to my sidekick. I am doing it exatly as they say in the manual and it says unable to verfiy login info. Then when I put in the server that imap.aol.com which tmobil told me to use it doesnt say not verified but it doesnt say verified either. And when I check the INbox there is nothing there and I have mail in AOL. So its not showing up.Any advice or help I would aprrecite I need this for my business. Thanks

did you download the aol mail program in the Download Catalog (its free)?

if so are you using that to get your mail with?

have you verified your imap server address and user name and ports?

just a few 'lets get to know your problem by starting from the start..' questions. hehe...

peace

ps
an alternative for the time being would be to have your AOL Mail forwarded to your tmail address... (set that up in aol..)

You can now add AOL mail under T-Zones as an email account and then use the settings that they provide to get that email. It should walk you through it...

example..
set up as POP3 (all after adding AOL account to T-Zones email)

pay attention to the username and password that was specified to be used when you set up the AOL account under T-Zones...

outgoing mail server myemail.t-mobile.com
incoming mail server myemail.t-mobile.com

Hope that helps... its not that hard... I had customers come in and show me they had it set up all by themselves... I was shocked...

sidekick cannot access wap or t-zones.

Sorry I don't own a sidekick and I know it can't get WAP or T-Zones..
does your t-mobile.com/mytmobile login still have T-Zone settings??? if so the process is the same as mentioned above... if not then unfortunately this only applies to every other device that accepts POP3 settings and when you can access the T-Zone settings page from t-mobile.com/mytmobile

that should work for him though.. since the sidekick's inbox does allow for pop3 email accounts to be setup.. (i use a pop3 and an imap email accounts on it)..

peace

The email program on the sidekick is more like the one on a Pocket PC or Palm device.

DiscountEyewear,

What is so hard to read the manaul?
Not pointing a finger but it seems Nobody no-adays reads the manual when they get a phone or pda that does more than just make/receive calls.

BUt I understand it can be fustrating.

1st DONT download the app it sucks.

2. go into your sidekicks Jump>Mail (select into it)> Menu>settings> accounts.

3. click on Menu to ADD a new account.
Mail server use AOL's incoming mail server ONLY.

4. Server Type is set to "Auto Detect" this way the Danger server detects the outgoing & its port & settings in the back end. Port for the Auto Detect will default to 110 don't change it!

5. use your mail providers username/password for THAT email address. (be sure what your username is if its just "buddy" or is it "buddy@aol.com"; don't guess)

6. IMPORTANT your From Address & your Reply To address should be identically the same; preferrable your full AOL email address in this case.

7. click menu and click done.

in the Mail apps Account screen select the Primary Email address to be your newly created AOL address. You'll get an error saying couldnt authenticate - DON"T Panic this is normal as it takes about 10 mins or less for Dangers' servers to authenticate correctly. When this is done your sidekick will update accordingly with the new info (unseen by you).
send yourself an email directly to your AOL email address, then press & hold BRIEFLY "Menu key+ U" this FETCHES emails in/out to that email account that is set as primary.

then wait. if it doesn't work powercycle your sidekick and once you get the G7 symbol then go into your email make sure your in your AOL account and Menu+U again this should work.

myemail.t-mobile.com is a rediretor that will NOT work if your email address isn't setup on your MyTmobile.com site FIRST. This is useless to sidekicks anyway. Mobile PocketPC PE's & Treo 600's this works and is preferrable.

hope this helps ya DiscountEyewear.
cheers.
