dumb question...
my dad got this phone and the reception licks ×××
is there any way to improve it?

i saw some thread about some post on the moto 300 or something on this code u can enter that will change it from 900 to 850...is there such a thing for the nokia 6100?

i just feel bad cuz he went to HK and he bought this phone and the reception is so bad.

any help would be much appreciated...

Nope, no code can change the frequency since this is determined by the installed hardware. How is it that your dad is having bad reception problems?

As far as I know the 6100 is GSM 900/1800/1900 and HK uses both GSM 900/1800. Could it be the network he is roaming on?

Derek,
my father and I both have the 6100 and we both have similar problems. I've been trying to find out whether we can swap out the antenna and switch it with one from another GSM Nokia phone.

This probably depends on how cross compatible the internal antennas from other Series 40 phones are. You might be able to use an antenna from the 7210 or the 6610 for example.

mayb is jus a problem for 6100 or its ur network problem cause i used the 6610 and the reception is always full with rogers.........and the antennas booster for 6610 and 6100 or 7210 is different........i don't think they share the same features or antennas model.........
