Hate Siemens' customers service!

I am pretty pissed by siemens' customers service. The story is like this...My S40 suddenly lost all the ring tones and trembler. I live in Vancouver, but the phone was bought in Hong Kong, so in order to get it fix, I have to send it back to Siemens in hk. I tried to contact them with email asking for advise, see if I can reset the phone and get it works again, so I don't have to send the phone back to hk. I waited and waited. It took them 2 1/2 weeks to reply my email with irresponsible attitude. They told me they won't care and provide support to foreign siemens product, also it is their latest product, so they cannot help me at this time. They said they have sent the information to siemens in hk and siemens in hk will give me a help.
Until now, I haven't receive any email from any siemens anymore.

Never heard of any company will say won't support latest products and products outside the country.

Were you contacting Siemens service centre in HK, or contacting the shop where you bought from in HK? If you were contacting the shop where you bought your phone, I'm almost 100% sure that they won't care much about it. You should have contact Stratecom (authorized distributor in HK) for warranty service. I got my new bought phone fixed there in 3 days.

If you think that's bad, try sending email to Siemens support in Germany. They never reply any email I sent to them. Maybe I should write it in German instead...

the latest software update seems to be version 2.9..anyone tried this yet ? several international oem siemens retail stores have recently stopped selling the s40 until all problems are rectified...

So I went to www.siemens.com to get the mobile phone support email address. Come on, the silver thingy on the board said made in Germany, if Siemens in Germany doesn't not support anything, then Siemens in which country support my phone. Very unsatisfy!

Just a simple question telling them the phone has such problem, they shouldn't use such irresponsible reply!

Please pass this to all users of S40 in the United States and Canada.

The launch of Siemens' S40 has just occurred, and Siemens U.S. can now support the S40 with software updates to version 2.9. The best way to reach them is to contact their US customer care center at 1-888-777-0211.

You will have to follow a RMA procedure, but it usually takes only a few days to get the phone back. Canadian users will take longer because of customs requirements and international shipping.

thanks anon for the tip - i just called siemens usa and they told me that the facilities for updating the software haven't been installed yet. i can 'try' sometime end of june. those morons.

can anybody here tell the rest of us frustrated s40 owners where we can send our phones for an update to v.2.9 or higher?? please?? =)

basically, u can send to hk... hehe... however, it seems not a good way to do so...

and now, my phone has some porblems, and i dunno what to do.. i am living in toronto...

my phone has some phone number entry that i cannot see the detail.. so i cannot delete those uneless entries. and it just took my memory... so stupid..

anyone face this problem?? is anyway i can just format the phone memory??

please help~~ i dun want to send back to hk again...

the US siemens just called me about my request of RMA for my s40..

they told me that the up-to-date version of software is 3.10... and they will send me the RMA phone through the internet and afer i fill out that.. i can just simply send them the phone and wait for 10 days... (i am living in toronto)...

i think their service is not bad.. polite enough.. and fast reply...

at least.. better than hk siemens...!!!

remember they told me that the up-to-date verison is 3.10.. not 2.10...

but i heard that the latest is 2.10.. right??

so which one is the most up-to-date then??

(i am having 2.10 from hk siemens.. but seems that many bugs still...)

I emailed them(german siemens), because my phone was the earliest shippment in town (hk). I believed I had the earliest and most buggy version of firmware. Lucky, I bought my S-40 from siemens dealer, not "water-product" in hk, which has Chinese-version avaliable at that time. So that, they replace my phone for free instead of installing new firmware. Anyway, I hate this newer phone, coz I wanted it back as fast as possible so they gave me a DEMO phone! w/ Degraded keypad, damn.

Hmmm. I just bought the phone a few days ago in HK. I didn't know there was a 'chinese version'. Do you just mean that it is a product of HK ("hong fau")? Or does it actaully support Chinese characters?

Anyways, mine currently has the 2.1.0 sw on it and i'm taking it to the Siemens this week to get the 3.2.0

When I first bought my phone, I heard that "water product" sellers have chinese version, which they modified the firmware by themselves. Later, the buyers had to dump all their phones, because the buggy firmware crashed the phone and siemens, of course, couldn't provide warranty.

They updated my firmware to a bit newer one in two weeks, siemens dealer asked me to choose english or chinese over the phone (long dis.). I didn't heard clearly about chinese version, I just picked the English instead becoz no need to wait.

but I believe chinese S40 is existing...
