PhotoID on 9900: Do you have to open the phone?

I do not understand the point of photo ID where you have to open the phone. If the answer is yes, do you at least get a text/phone number ID on the outside display?
Anyone aware of significant differences with 8910 other than size and video camera?

Yes, there is photo caller ID on inner and outer screens.
Significant difference between the 9900 and 8910? Hmm.. 9900 is better in every way

i think the 8910 is digital only and just a cameraphone, i guess it;s the upgrade to the 8900 but no trimode sounds more like a downgrade! i think it has a color lcd on the outside.
the 9900 is the better phone, it;s got the video camera with flash, LCD inside and out and is trimode whicj is important to some.
