Originally posted by bossdragon Yeah, I meant to say 30 k and not seconds. Well, you can get something like Audacity and trim them down so that they are 30k or less. but at 30 k, your really not going to get much of clip. There was a discussion in one of the threads about converting to .qcp which is lower quality than mp3 but suppose to sound pretty good on our phones and the file size is suppose to be much, much smaller. You could look into that. If I was you, I'd really invest in a cable though. That size limit is out the window then. Just out of curiosity I downloaded a whole song onto my 6000, and then another, and another. It held all of them and each one was like 3 to 4 megs in size. I currently have like 25 songs that I have downloaded onto my 6000 and each one is sized between 50k to 95k. All with the cable though. |

Originally posted by bossdragon Is all that the name of the song????? 04-fabolous-breath_(explicit_album_version)-mad.mid If it is...WOW!!! Clip it down to lets say mad.mid, and try sending it that way. Remember, their site tells you what the limit is. So when you are renaming it to a .mid, check the file size. Make sure it's like 70 to 100k at the most. And no you don't need to covert and all that crap. Just do as I said in the tutorial, and it will work. |

Originally posted by JTRipper the cable is best for non video phones. with the video phones you can send them from any email to the handset. and up to 30 secs of sound. and what are you gonna do with a cable when you get a new phone? yeah i know 30 bucks for 2 years or 2.99 a month for 2 years... i prefer the other... a lil bit more money but alot less hassle. all u need is sound forge and an email and your set. |

|
Originally posted by JTRipper the cable when it comes out will allow you to send ringers from your computer and pics.. you'll need bitpim if it has the 6100 im not sure. big diff is that songs can now be up to 30 secs with the cable. most stores will carry the cable but its not out yet. and yes that did cost you 25 cents.. better to spend 2.99 a month if your going to contiue to send ringers that way. then you get 20 (ringers) |

Originally posted by tater259 I got a question too. Im using Audacity and I have my songs with at 100 to 108kb. It sends fine. But the song only lasts like 5 seconds. This sucks. My computer wont work right with a cable and this is the only way I can get them minus paying top dollar thru GET IT NOW. Can someone tell me is there a way to compress the file to 100kb and have the song for like 20 seconds or is that possible? Please help me. THANKS Great forums !

When i click yes it comes up with a 'connecting" box and then two seconds later "message reciept failed" Am I doing something wrong here? Nicole |

Originally posted by bossdragon Once the song is on your phone and you preview it, it will only play for about 5 seconds. Bring the message back up, go to options and scroll down to save song. Once you have done that, go to tunes & tones and all your songs should be there including the new one. Scroll down to it, press play and the song should play the full length now. |
or does it not matter if its ogrinally mp3?
|
Originally posted by tater259 im sending the ringtone as MP3 converted to mid....will that give me the full song cause I cut out most of the full song. Just enough to have 100kb. And when I play it it plays for about 5 seconds or does it not matter if its ogrinally mp3?
|
|
Originally posted by bossdragon You did just like I said right? All your doing is changing the extention from .mp3 to .mid. Your not actually converting it to a midi? The only way you can get an entire song on your phone is with a cable. You sending a clip of the song shouldn't matter, it should still play the song/clip that you have sent. Then again, it also depends on the bitrate, etc that your making your clips at. You need to drop the sample rate and the bitrate of the song down. Try this, go to my site and download one of the songs and send it to your phone and let me know if it plays on your phone. |
|
Originally posted by bossdragon It asked if you want to recieve the message? I have never seen nor heard of this one. On the 7000 once the message is sent to it, it automatically accepts it, then it shows the message being downloaded. Like I said in my last post, once the phone has all of the file it will let you preview about 5 seconds of the song. Just do as I said before and you should have your song. |

Originally posted by bossdragon You can either reduce the length of the song clip or reduce the bit rate and/or sample rate. Example: A normal song is set at 32 bit, 44000 hz. Dropping it down to 16 bit and 22000 hz will drastically reduce the size of the file. |

Originally posted by bossdragon For your phone (LG 6000) I would go to the link "how to put my3's on your phone for dummies". It's very good, very simple to follow instructions specifically for your phone. They even tell ya what you need i.e. cable's, bitmap, etc. I would make sure you have the latest version's of everything, as the thread is a bit old. The link is located------> HERE |
