Well I've been thinking about getting a p900 or 910 and I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere that actually carries this phone? I've used the search and didn't find anything useful... I live in central Texas, US area, and if anyone knows of any places I could go to and check out the phone I would really appreciate it.

Also I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about how insurance works (I use Cingular, and I have insurance on it, but if I do end up getting this phone I'm going to definitely would like to get this phone.

And finally, do these phones come unlocked?

I think that's all for now, thanks everyone!

Can you be a little more specific as to where in central Texas? Texas is not exactly a small place and central Texas can be 3,000sq/miles.

I got mine from www.phonewarehouse.com, although I walked in and purchased it at the actual store... They are in Houston and I have purchased multiple items from them. I am sure they would ship, and Steve (the owner) is very nice and helpful.

Not Central Texas, I know, but Texas nonetheless.

Ft. Worth, TX. It's about 30 miles west of Dallas. Possibly less than 30.

Hrmm, I hate to bump, but I'd really like some help on the situation... Like I said, I'm in Fort Worth, Texas, but anywhere within 50 miles is no problem, possibly more, 100 is stretching it.... Does anyone know anywhere p9xx are carried in my area???

Dude, just call mobile phone shops in Fort Worth and Dallas. Surely there is someone in the DFW metro area who sells this device...

Once you find a good shop, chances are you can go there for all your needs - that's what I do with Phone Warehouse (mentioned above).

Well I've gone to the major stores (like Cingular, T-Mobile, etc) and none of them either carries it, provides insurance, and some have never even heard of the phone... I'm not having any luck, I'll google up something for this area and hopefullly have some luck...

But for everyone here, how do you do insurance? The only thing I heard today was to go through homeowners insurance to cover the phone... Whats a ballpark estimate on a deductible on something like this? Im not going to have to pay the same deductible as for the house am I? But I'm hosted through Cingular, and they said they cannot provide insurance for the Smartphones, simply because they cost too much...

Everyday the opportunity for me to get this phone grows bleaker...

The mobile carriers don't carry this phone. You're going to have to find a specialty mobile phone shop. These are few and far between in the US, but I have found at least two in every major city in which I've lived. Mobile carriers usually carry phones that are either affordable to the everyday person, or in more demand than the SE P-series.

These phones are top-of-the-line, even as far as smartphones go - too expensive even for hard-core business users. You're not going to find them being sold on every street corner, and you might have to send away for it. It took me days to even find a place that carried it, then they were out of stock... I had to wait like another week before I had one in my hand once I had the money to buy it.

Hit Google over and over again with different searches, Yellow Pages and any other available resource.

Thanks Richy, I've been doing a lot of searches and I've called around a few places, with no luck yet, but I'm still determined... What do you guys do as far as insurance goes? Do you have it on the phone?? How do you have it covered? Through the store, or home-owners or something like that? Thats another big concern of mine, and as of yet I haven't found any answers.. Does SE offer any type of insurance??

T-Mobile offers insurance, but they don't guarantee that they'll be able to replace the phone unless you get one from T-Mobile. That is, if you get a Treo 600, they'll replace it with a Treo 600 because it is available from T-mobile.

If you buy a phone that isn't carried by T-Mobile, they will replace your phone but only with something that is available from T-Mobile. If you had insurance through T-Mobile, they would most likely replace your P900 with a Treo 600, which is a far cry from equal.

I don't know about any other insurance though. I think renter's/owner's (homeowner's) insurance houls cover it, but I might be wrong.
