New TM150 - Any Suggestions?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: GSXRider

Hey all! I just received a TM150 and unlike my Moto V400 I have NO clue what "cool" things I can do to make it better.

I love the phone as it is, a little dissapointed about not being able to have MP3 ringtones, otherwise a cool phone. Are there any suggestions or cool thing I can do with a data cable to enable certain features or anything?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I think sharp tm150 is a good phone but not as good as sharp gx30/32. tm150 is tri-band and gx30/32 is quad band. thats the main difference...

I think that Sharp TM150 is 100% better given the fact it cost me about $450 less than the GX32...

I was just curious if there were any hints or tips to give it some more flare. Thanks for the input.

i bought my sharp gx30 brand new unlocked for $450 without contract. good deal..

i have to say sharp tm150 is still better than other phones, such as v600, d415, E715, so on.

^and yet you aren't answering his questions.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure what you could do to make the phone "cooler". First off, if you have a card reader then you can put custom wallpapers on the phone. You can also add mmf ringtones. Too bad the tm150 doesn't have the mp3 player on it. If you are looking for voice tones you can get some in the mmf format. Other than that I'm not sure what else you can do with it. Maybe add some java games

Cool thanks. Any flexing options for the phone? A way to make the speaker louder, free up some hidden settings, de-T-mobilize it a little? You know what I mean =p

are you stupid? You can change the wallpaper and ringtones on EVERY phone now. Its nothing special. We are looking at the UNIQUE features or out of the ordinary things you can do with the phone. if you didn't notice, I mentioned wallpaper and ringtones but I talked about the mmf ringtones and the card reader so how about you read/think before you post

I don't know about any "secret" options but here are the ones I like that took me a bit of time to find but are cool:

1. Wallpaper calendar - (Main Menu->Settings->Phone Settings->Main Display->Wallpaper Calendar->On)

It shows two months of calendar floating on top of the wallpaper on the main screen with the current day highlighed.

2. Odd-ball clock - (Main Menu->Settings->Phone Settings->External Display->Display Clock->Analog Clock 3)

Shows an "odd-ball" clock with 12, 3, 5 and 8 as the main numbers. Useful for someone I am sure!?

3. Shortcuts - (Main Menu->Settings->Shortcuts settings - You have to scroll all the way down to see it)
You can customize any of the arrow keys or volume keys to take you to picture, set ringtone etc.

4. Camera frames - Make a picture 240 x 320 with a hole cut it in and save it as a GIF or PNG with transparency on. For example a picture of a super model with the face "cut out". Upload it to the handset, set the still camera to small picture size and choose Options->Add frame->My Pictures and choose the photo. Then shoot a friend with their face in the hole!

5. Profiles - Press the right arrow key to get to profiles and change to something other than the T-Mobile profile. That will let you change all the settings, like ringtone, wallpaper, volume, etc. I hate key beeps so I switched them off but setting them to wierd sounds was funny too.

6. Stop the ringer - when a call comes in and you're in a meeting, just press the volume key once. The ringer stops but the phone is still "ringing". Gives you time to check the caller ID and decide if you want to walk out or let it go to voice mail.

7. Quick silent/vibe mode - press and hold # button. (Other phones have this too but I like it)

8. Send a audio note - Press Menu (center button) and then # - gets you to the audio recorder. Record a message and send. Sometimes easier than hacking out a text message.

9. T-Mobile UK SIM's work fine. I went to the UK with my TM150 and went to a T-Mobile shop in London and got a pre-paid SIM. Worked like a charm. The shop guy was really cool about it and said if it didn't work he wouldn't charge me, but it did so that was cool. Saved big $'s from roaming.

That's it so far. I this phone!

braindead. i am not stupid. i guess you dont have a software..... i have a ringtones and wallpaper cd for my sharp gx30.

Posted by: braindead5400

that means nothing, you said I was a rookie because I don't know anything about my phone and then you continued to mention ringtones and wallpaper after I had already talked about them. So apparently you are stupid. Pay attention to what you are writing.

Hmmmmm.... who gave the wrong advices so far that I and other people on the forums know about..........the answer is..........................KINGFANS! Dude......you don't even need software to upload ringtones or wallpaper. You have a software cd that came with your gx30.....whoopie do....... wanna know why I'm responding to you. Because you think you know it all and tell others to listen to your advice even when you are wrong. Braindead also responded with the same message I have said to you and that is

READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT OTHERS HAVE POSTED BEFORE POSTING A RESPONSE THAT WILL END UP MAKING YOU LOOK LIKE A DONKEY!

yes you are twelve I'm positive and I don't care how many people say you're not. I know you are. Until I get a picture showing that you are not twelve (maybe even a video) then I'm gonna believe that you are twelve. (sound familiar?)

age != intelligence

I don't plan on turning this into a flame war, but you should really get your facts straight before you share whatever useless knowledge you have here. It will confuse all the people who don't know much about Sharp GSM phones.

Posted by: kingfans

you are not contributing to this sharp forums. at least we have knowledge about phones.

I was the one who posted the 192kbps picture you wanted so much.....

I wouldn't consider your contributions productive

Having totally smacking you down with the 192kbps picture is contributing to the forums. It lets other people know that they have the option of saving higher bitrate mp3s. Takes more memory you say? Who cares....thats what the SD card is for....plenty of memory space!

I am also of the opinion that "kingfans" is probably only 12.

If he really is 24, then his mental age certainly isn't!

Is this for real? I didn't sign up for t-zones and as you TM-150 owners know the only way to download games (the few that are compatible) is via wap since it won't allow via the sd card. Can anyone confirm this is legit before I try messing with my new phone (just got it last week)??

Posted by: braindead5400

not anymore, you used to be able to get free wap, its gone now
