mp3ringtones confused my 8900

So i downloaded brewsky and the cute little buddyholly ringtone that comes standard with it. I kinda like that song.. so i figured with my new found power of endless free ringtones and wallpapers, why not right?
I follow the correct procedure of making sure the connection is properly disconnected before unplugging my phone, I reboot, yada yada.
I go to settings>sound>ringertype>ringer>
then onto the custom downloaded ringtones. not only are all my previously downloaded ringtones erased, the one that was left wont work, and the other two that are available for selection are untitled (as in, totally blank)
Its then that this high pitched screech emits from my cell phone, it scares the pants off me, and continues to screech every couple seconds
Not only can I not delete these individually without my phone freezing, when i try to erase all it gives me some broken english message
"please wait, user data is being restore... [7]"
and sorta goes into a loop, that i can get out of easily enough

Dumb phone

How are you able to break out of the data restore loop if you don't mind me asking. I think you're the only person that's reported that they've been able to recover their phone when they've encountered that issue.

As far as Brewsky is concerned, you have to set it up to be used with a Telus phone. If you are using the application as it comes out of the box, it won't work as it's set up for use with Verizon phones which have are have a completely different index file set up.

I've written an app to modify the index file on Telus phones. It can be found on my website if you're interested in using it.

honestly I'm not too sure how I get the phone to snap out of it. If I left it open it would loop on and on. I just randomly open and close it, hit the end button in a monkey with a wrench sort of manner

Cool... glad you can get it to snap out of it.

I suggest you find the blank Telus download_snd.txt file in this forum that someone uploaded. Overwrite the damaged one on your handset (it's in the db dir) and that should fix your looping issue.
