V600 Seem Editing PLEASE HELP!

I'm new to modding, so I've been gathering as much info as I can. I have a full guide from xlr8 which proved to be very helpful. But I can't get anything to work...

I followed instructions dilligently on installing MPT, P2Kman, and the hex editor. I can download the seem files I need (for outer LCD changes) : 004a_0001, 0061_0001, 0062_0001. I have made the changes in the hex editor, saved, and then uploaded to my phone. I have received ok's on all of them, and then rebooted-- but nothing takes effect? Is there a step I'm missing?

If anyone has any insight for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hello Christopher,

Did you make sure to click the "Set" button in XVI32 after you changed the bits? Are you certain that you are uploading the edited seem files and not the backup copies?

Yeah. I clicked set, made sure that directions were steb by step. I even saved backups in another place so I wouldn't confuse the copies. After all was said and done, I still got nothing.

Did I need to flash/flex the phone beforehand? Does it need to be unlocked?

Also, I was using P2Kman to delete stupid locked GIF's, and the phone lost its loud detail menu. The phone wouldn't ring, and I couldn't get in to change the settings. I have a new one through warranty tomorrow... Does any of this sound right?

Look man... U have probably gone the offset 27
(in seem 004a_0001) by decimal and not by hexadecimal....
In hex editor use option GOTO then set to hexadecimal and enter offset 27 and then proceed... There should be 02 value in this field
and all u have to do is to change it to 01.... Then upload it back to phone...

I think that this is the offset that turns on the availablity to use a custom display, yes? I know that some people have to go to one of the offsets and tun it on... I didn't have to... But some do. Also... make sure that you upload to /a/ and that you specify the seem that you are uploading... ot only entering it in p2kman but also picking the corresponding seem to upload... Make sense?
