I'm still not sure about the Sk2
I was told that you cant surf the web and take/make calls at the same time.
can you go on Aim and make/take calls?
and also, if you go into an area with poor or no t-mobile service do you disconnect from aim or does it put up an away msg.
thx for your help in advance

aim is always connected and will put you in idle. As for wanting to aim and talk No it is either or and face it you will rarley talk and aim at the same time even if that was possible on gsm..... don't let that be the deciding factor I mean what phone lets you do both? from what i know it would only work on 1x or something and that isnt gsm.

lol
between my post and this reply
my t-mobile inderect rep came in
and he said "yes you can"
but i honestly trust you more
thx, but that kind of sucks, cause i want to view my buddylist at ALL times, and make calls, why else would i be paying for Unlimited internet And a Voice plan.
what happens to the ims you get while you are idle?

No phone can use GSM and GPRS at the same time. You cannot do that with any device. If you want to be able to use the phone and AIM at the same time, then get the sidekick with a data-only plan and then get a seperate phone for your voice calls.

^^^^^^
haha
yeh he is right GSM can't support it like i mentioned in my first post. you would need a 1x network but trust me it is poitnless, you can type in the aim window all you want while in talkmode but it wont send in the network until u hang up. all your message are held until you hang up then you get them. its pretty cool actually what would suck is if everytime u got a phone call, aim disconnects that would suck but it keeps you connected. depending what you need man it is up to you, I love my 2 way man
this thing has instant emal, Instant messaging, to do, list games phone etc.. and i am happy with the first colour sidekick I cant wat till the SK2 comes down it is way better.

How about just regular SMSing? You can do THAT while using the phone, can't you?

^^^^
yeh as with most providers you can all though before i came to Fido I was on Iden Telus Mike and I couldnt even sens a sms while on the phone it was so crap that is why i switched too lame.
so to answer your question yes you can since sms uses gsm and not the gprs so you can type out a sms while talking and send it . I have done this alot.
