I tried downloading the latest firmware for my new P900 but was told by the installer I have the latest version available for my phone. The problem however is that I find there is significant battery drain through the day. All I am doing is a few calls and Agile. Does anyone know what I can do to correct this prob of do I just have to be patient.

Also thanks to the guy that said use Opera. Worked 100 times better than IE when using the sony firmware upgrade site.

Thank you all.

You gotta make sure you don't leave any apps. open (ie. games or Opera) it will suck your juice like crazy. Agile if use alot will also drain battery. Get Sman and "flushed" any app. not in use.

The best tip for the battery is to detach your GPRS connection unless you need it. To to do that, go to Control Panel, Connection, Internet Accounts, Other, change the Preferred Mode option to GSM only and drop the Timeout to 2 minutes.

This will only make your phone attach to GPRS when an application requires it (email, browsiing, chatting, etc) but will turn it off when it is not in use.

This will give you at least 2 more days of battery life guaranteed.

Thanks.

I have my GPRS detached since the day I bought my phone, I don't think it help that much since I can only get two day max to begin with.

@Trinikojak
It was me who suggeted you use Opera in one of your other post. I had problem with IE too until I used Opera. As for me the newest firmware seems to improve my battery life a bit. I can go about 2 and half days now. Also don't ever let your batt. run completely out to 0% (trust me, I let that happened one day and after a full charged it die out in half a day. It took me 4-5 charge before it got back to normal). It's also a good idea to get Sman, it will close out all apps. not in use to conserved battery life.
