Does anybody know what this software update does for the 5150?

i heard all it does is allow you to roam in south america and africa or something like that. i read that in another forum. i don't have the link but it was on either wirelessadvisor.com's discussion forum for sanyo phones, or the newsgroup alt.cellular.sprintpcs through phonescoop.com.

The PRL 10014 allows you to roam in South America and Hong Kong, that I read in the wirelessadvisor.com forum.

I'm not sure, I noticed that some sprint tech in another forum mentioned it...So thought some people might have it or either know what it does as an improvement. Maybe someone can call and find out for us all.

I see no record of the above mentioned sw version. The latest one I see is 1.106SP which was released in Dec. 01. Oddly enough it mentions that this sw version supports 3G. Must be with a data cable but I've never heard of anyone ever succesfully doing it, but I haven't looked into it either.

PRL 10015 is available but I can't find a description as to what it does other than it says it improved roaming.

Sorry I don't have more info.

I heard that 10015 helps your phone pick up towers in LA... who knows if thats the truth though.
