Caller ID to display name instead of number?

When I was using my V400 with stock Cingular firmware the phone recognized the number and displayed the name stored in the phone even without having the number stored with area code.

For example my provider sends the caller ID info with area code like this +5042225555 (being 504 area code) and the number stored for "Joe" in the my phone would be 2225555 and the V400 would still recognize the number and display "Joe".

Now i've upgraded to the TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.4AR firmware with SE6446AXXF1148 and my phone now doesn't recognize the number if I don't store it with the area code.

Is there a way for the phone to recognize a number without storing it with the area code? :

Don't think so, it's not so hard to put in the area code for them, but that is one of the reasons I decided to not flex with this V300 replacement I have, I just seem edited the stock flex to keep all the original provider programming on it, including problem free name display when I call out or receive a call.
