Hi

How long does it take to actually flash a phone?
I just flash TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R_reflash.shx and it only took 2 mins and nothing went wrong. Is this normal?

I tried to search but I don't really know what keywords to use.

Two minutes sounds a little too fast. Normally it takes about 5 - 8 minutes to flash and about 8 - 10 to flex. But if you power cycled the phone and everything works... Gotta love it!

it also takes me at least 5mins
only my language pack flash is like 2mins

Perhaps flash time is dependent on PC speed and phone type. My 2.4GHz desktop box takes about 5 minutes to flash my v600, while my 3.06GHz laptop takes about 3.5-4 minutes. I'm actually surprised there's any difference, considering USB speed must be a limiting factor, but there it is. Perhaps its bus speed that's responsible (I'm too lazy to look up the relevant numbers at the moment).

Also, I notice you're using a v66. Perhaps the more limited feature set of that phone means that only a subset of the full flash actually transfers to your phone. That would account for the greater speed.

Oh, I am now using a V300, I just changed the phone.

It might have to do with USB port 2.0? It just seem strange to me that I need an hour to upload a 5 MB video clip and it only took 2 min to flash a 30 MB TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R_reflash.shx
