I'm thinking of getting an x70. I already have a gd87 but want a smaller version at a budget price.

The only problem I had with the gd87 was that photos of incoming callers are so small iet makes that function useless. Also when photos are transferred to a pc screen they are rather small ie passport size. Is this function improved with the x70?

What about the x70 picture quality? is it still as clear as the gd87?

Any other shortcomings or great points would be appreciated.

well a friend of mine has the gd88... i would say the gd88 is almost the same as the x70 except that the x70 has bluetooth (which i havent used yet as nobody has BT in canada, BC at least....) [i understand that anyone with an SE has BT, but nobody I know has it, as I am the only person of my friends who cares about modern technology].

the x70 is smaller, but big phones are cool. the gd88/gd87/gu87 has a slightly bigger screen with the same resolution. esthetically the x70 is nicer, but as far as value goes your phone is just fine.

The X70 also has slightly better RF than the gd88 (on Rogers in Victoria, tested my x70 verses gd88 in certain areas). The GD88 has a slightly better sounding speaker too (ringtones).

i paid $295 USD for mine (including shipping) about 4 months ago from x1387 on Ebay. It has worked great so far. If you get the X70 i don't think you will be disappointed.

Basically, if you are willing to pay an extra $80 (value of GD88 plus $80ish) just to get bluetooth go for it. But i think your current phone is just fine, unless you think about upgrading to the X700 or the like.

Be aware the X70 does NOT have Java support. It says the X700 does, but it also says the X70 does. As yet I am still ignorant to the X700 because, as it says below, I am too poor to purchase it so I have not researched it at all. I hope this helps a bit.

That's v useful, kevbodian. I'm not too fussed about the java as I rarely play games on my mobile anymore. I just want a slightly smaller phone and slightly bigger pics cos I use my phone to take pictures for selling on ebay (yes, I'm an ebayer too! user id: mocha_all_over)

Sorry to ask again but have you observed the size of pics taken with x70? Any good?

I actually discovered yesterday that there's this phone called the sagem my-v 65 or something like that and I hear the photos taken with it are awesome!

some of my friends almost more like GD87(GD88) than X70..
actually,they just different between BlueTooth,others almost the same. For test the phone, GD87(GD88) takes picture is more clearly than X70. The coming phone picture of GD88 is smaller than X70.
