I was looking at some of the i860 wallpapers there. The landscapes to be specific.

But all the ones I looked at were GIF files. Why would someone want to use a 256 color GIF on a 262k screen?

It would be nicer if they were JPG files. Just a suggestion.

honestly on the phones you cant really tell a difference to the naked eye. The phones although they display that many colors do not display that many colors at one time, most people when they think of 256 colors think of the ×××××× i95 screens, its not liek the i95s where you could only see 256 colors on the phone those were web colors with a limited pallet of web colors only, the only way to display more than 256 colors to my knowledge is a png file which the phones still dont accept, if you are discounting them bc they are gif files put one on the phone and look at them they look great, everyone who has used them has loved em. Also bc i have such a large collection of organized wallpapers (not all of them being for the 860) i have to restrict the uplaods to gif files only or you would have people uploading jpgs to the album and whatnot for the other phone which they will not work on. Like I said try them on the phones and see what you think, so far havnt had any complaints and ive talked to a lot of people using them, thank you for the suggestion I always love hearing them. ~eko

I dunno, I guess I am either gifted or cursed, depending on your point of view.

I can actually tell the difference. Actually everyone I work with who has a 730 or 830 definately are amazed when they put a JPG on there how better it looks.

I think what makes the difference, if the GIFs look a bit grainy. the 256 color limit makes it lose color depth. But when you put a 65K JPG on there the difference is very obvious.

But to each his own.

lol yeah too each there own for the most part all i am saying is 95% of wallpapers you cant tell a difference on I am not claiming for every wallpaper you cant tell a difference just most, also call me dumb but i ahve had problems getting jps on my 860 so far, they show up as white screens

Well I just got my first MP3 on there. That is working fine it appears. 8000 / 48kps / mono works fine. Just make sure you remove the ID3 tags first.

As far as wallpapers, I just put a few on. I had a few left over from my V600 days, which are the same size, 176x220. They are JPG's and look just fabulous on the i860 screen.
