Am I missing something or am I stuck with the fact that the email client on the P900 will not give me the choice of downloading the full body of an email but not the attachment. (Limiting the size of the email is not the same as downloading an email minus the attachment)

I believe this to be correct. I've yet to see anything other than changing the limit, which as you say, doesn't stop all attachments.
