its more customizeable, and has a hell lot more programs for it than smartphone.

Really depends on what you want... if you're not going to use all those pocket pc features, then get a smartphone.

It really depends on what you want to do with either one. WMPE is great if you want a PDA that can be a phone and WMSP is great if you want a phone that can be provide access to key information you need. WMPE is more user oriented with touch screens and WMSP is more menu driven. I have used both.
